Luxury travel bloggers have undoubtedly the most coveted job on earth. They stay at lavish resorts all over the world, sipping champagne from overwater bungalows in the Maldives, soaking in cliffside infinity pools in Bali, and sunning themselves on the powdery sand beaches of the Caribbean…and they get paid to do it. It sounds idyllic and it can be; but it’s also a job with exhausting travel schedules, writing deadlines, and countless hours spent promoting a brand and working to attract a large social media following. It isn’t all peaches and cream, but lets face it, the benefits and lifestyle the travel blogging career affords is pretty sweet. Christina Vidal – Jetset Christina, @JetsetChristina on Instagram

When I first started my own travel blog I stumbled upon Jetset Christina‘s Instagram  account and was blown away by her exotic island captures in some of the most luxurious destinations in the world. I started reading her blog and learned she had started JetsetChristina as a way to journal her experience on a Semester At Sea program in college. Christina went on to work in marketing for Google but she continued to write about her passions for travel, luxury resorts, and fine wines via weekend trips, mostly near her home in Southern California. Eventually she left Google to pursue her passion for luxury travel as a full- time occupation.

Fast-forward to today and JetsetChristina has earned numerous awards and accolades from a multitude of luxury travel publications and brands, including a #1 ranking on Travel and Leisure’s Top Travel Instagrams to Follow and TripAdvisor’s Top Travel Accounts to Follow.  Christina’s genuine and infectious enthusiasm for luxury travel coupled with her down-to-earth, relatable personality make her a unique and highly coveted brand.  See her top pick and resort description below.

Six Senses Laamu, Maldives

My favorite resort is the Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. This private island is an absolute paradise where your days are filled with sunny seaside breakfasts, beautiful beaches, endless water activities, and swimming with sea turtles right outside your villa. The Six Senses Laamu is paradise on earth, but it is also a trendsetter and thought leader in eco-luxury, striving to be a completely sustainable resort. The resort’s mission and values focus on the protection of the environment and the communities and ecosystems around them, from protecting the coral reefs and marine life to eliminating things like plastic and excess trash from the ecosystem.

You can feel good about vacationing at the Six Senses Laamu, as they are industry champions in their dedication to eco-tourism, sustainability, and social responsibility. The Six Senses Laamu’s love for their island and our world is contagious and something you will take with you long after you’ve gone home.

Suzanne Stavert – Adventures of Empty Nesters, @SuzanneStavert on Instagram

I discovered Suzanne Stavert’s blog, Adventures of Empty Nesters while googling “top luxury travel bloggers over age 50”, as I was looking to connect with other women bloggers in my own age demographic. I was so impressed with her blog and travel adventures, I started following her on Instagram and the rest is history. Redefining what it means to be an empty nester, Suzanne takes her midlife readers on inspirational journeys all over the globe, encouraging them to get out and explore the world through her stunning photography. She collaborates with innovative travel and tourism brands worldwide and lives in sunny Southern California with her husband Craig and their rescue pup, Rocco.  See below for her top resort choice and description of what makes it so unique.

Park Hyatt, Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca (or Majorca) is the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. Just a one hour plane ride from Barcelona, it is an island well-known for luxurious beach resorts, sheltered coves, limestone mountains, and Roman and Moorish remains. Just imagine the loveliest, most vibrant, deep turquoise blue and it would be called Mallorca blue.

Our favorite place to stay on the island is the impressive Park Hyatt Mallorca. The unique resort offers a stunning architectural setting, and sitting poolside is the perfect way to unwind without the distraction of a busy timetable or the need to be anywhere.  It’s the ultimate in relaxation.  The luxurious yet understated design of our suite was so stylish, almost like a New York apartment.

Each of the three resort restaurants offers a vast array of enticing cuisine. From fantastic Southeast Asian to Spanish and Mallorcan gourmet dining, your taste buds will be tantalized by the exciting dishes prepared using only the freshest ingredients from local farms and fishing ports.

Add the Park Hyatt’s world-class spa and you have all the ingredients for the perfect getaway in Mallorca, Spain. Walking hand-in-hand through our “own” Spanish village truly allowed me and my husband to relax and enjoy a very peaceful five-day stay.

Agnieszka – Pink Lemonade@pink.lem on Instagram

I discovered Pink Lemonade on Instagram and was captivated by Agnieszka’s stunning images full of color and fashion from alluring locations all over the world, including Bali, Portugal, London, and Zanzibar.  She has a large and growing Instagram following,  likely due to her incredible creative talent, her passion and dedication to her work, and her willingness to personally connect with her audience. Below she talks about her resort pick and why she chose it.

 Tulia Zanzibar Unique Beach Resort

During my career as a travel blogger, I’ve had the opportunity to see some incredible hotels, some which left me literally speechless.  Maybe because it was the first resort of its kind I visited, but more likely because it is such an AMAZING resort, Tulia is my absolute number one hotel pick.

Tulia is a boutique resort directly on the beach in Pongwe.  It is an absolute paradise, with its infinity pool looking out over a perfect blue ocean and  its spacious and stylish villas hidden in a lush garden setting. I enjoyed watching the sunrise while sipping my fresh mango juice every morning and was surrounded by the kindest and most attentive staff, all with smiles on their faces and catering to my every need. Tulia’s attention to detail was impeccable, from the decor to the top-notch service.

Being at Tulia was like living a dream and I highly recommend it to everyone. It was an unforgettable experience and I hope to return one day.

Melinda McNatt – @ShakingMyPalmPalms on Instagram

I stumbled upon Shaking My Palm Palms while scrolling through Instagram recently and was mesmerized by Melinda’s gorgeous captures and drone footage of the Caribbean Sea as well as the Sedona area, two of my favorite places on earth. I also loved the name of her site and discovered she is a cheerleading coach when she’s not strolling exotic sandy beaches and scaling majestic mountains.  Her down-to-earth, witty enthusiasm and zest for adventure really shines through in her work and I’m a big fan! See her pick below.

 Fairmont Orchid Resort, Hawaii

When looking for a beautiful place to escape reality and experience paradise, look no further than The Fairmont Orchid Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. Located on 32 acres of lush oceanfront property, The Fairmont Orchid is truly the whole package. With its perfect white sand beach and lagoon, cascading waterfalls, tennis courts, golf course, 10,000 square foot pool, award-winning Spa Without Walls, and 6 restaurants, there is definitely something for everyone at The Fairmont Orchid Resort.

One of the highlights of my stay at The Fairmont Orchid was the resort’s nightly torch-lighting ceremony and luau under the stars.  The most spectacular sunset I’ve ever seen also took place at this resort with live traditional Hawaiian music playing in the background while I sipped a delicious signature cocktail from Luana Lounge.

If you are looking for stellar ambience, sensational oceanfront views, and plenty of space to lose yourself away from the crowds, The Fairmont Orchid Resort is the perfect luxury property to add to your list. I promise it will not disappoint!
